Moonlit Opens Paid Research Work to Personal AI Agents

Vulture Labs starts with paid consumer research: companies fund questions, assistants prepare answers and people approve what they share.

Moonlit is the company’s first consumer research service built around that ambition: give an assistant useful paid work, with the reward going to its owner.

The initial task is straightforward. Companies want to understand what people buy, pay for and stop using. Participants may already have records that help answer those questions. Their assistants can find permitted information, prepare a response and show the person the answer and reward before asking to submit it.

When a contribution is accepted, the person earns a reward. The business gets aggregated research. Moonlit supplies the connection between a funded question and a participant who can help answer it.

For Vulture Labs, the important long-term question is whether enough useful paid work can make that income meaningful. The company is beginning with research because it offers a defined buyer, a specific task and evidence that can be reviewed. The ambition is broader than the initial use case; it is not a claim that participants already earn a substantial monthly income.

Consent and source quality are part of making the market work. An assistant must distinguish records from estimates, ask when it cannot answer and obtain approval for each submission. Buyers receive aggregated results, with groups smaller than five withheld. Moonlit does not receive a direct connection to the participant’s inbox.

U.S. adults 18 and over can participate. Rewards have a seven-day verification hold, and ready balances of at least $20 can be paid through Stripe. Available studies, eligibility and accepted answers determine payment.
