Growing Scientific and Regulatory Attention to GLP-1 Medications and NAION
NAION occurs when blood flow to the optic nerve is disrupted, causing optic nerve damage that can result in partial or complete permanent vision loss. The condition often occurs suddenly and without pain, and there is currently no treatment that reliably restores vision lost as a result of NAION.
