CLEARWATER, FL, UNITED STATES, September 21, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Scott M. of Clearwater, FL is the creator of IMAGEN, an air turbine system designed to provide supplemental electrical generation and battery or capacitor charging capabilities for electric and hybrid vehicles. The system is intended to operate alongside a vehicle’s existing charging and power systems, using airflow and other forces encountered during vehicle operation to drive turbine components capable of generating additional electrical power.
At the center of the IMAGEN system is a circular turbine container incorporating magnetic components and an impeller fan. As air moves through the turbine, the airflow rotates the impeller and causes interaction between the rotating components and magnetic stators to produce electricity. The resulting electrical output can be directed toward supplemental charging of a vehicle’s battery or capacitor system, including while the vehicle is under load.
The system can incorporate multiple turbine assemblies positioned at different locations throughout a vehicle. Potential installation locations include portions of the vehicle body where aerodynamic airflow is already present, as well as systems associated with direct airflow from the throttle or air intake. The system is designed to take advantage of forces already present rather than requiring a separate external power source to drive the turbine by utilizing airflow generated during normal vehicle operation.
IMAGEN is intended for applications involving electric and hybrid vehicles where available battery capacity and operating range are important considerations. Supplemental electrical generation could provide an additional means of supporting the vehicle’s existing power and charging systems during operation, reducing the frequency with which a vehicle must rely exclusively on external charging infrastructure during extended travel. There is a potential for smaller batteries in EVs and hybrids to possibly make production of these vehicles cheaper. Furthermore, the system has potential as an active aerodynamic system. For example, some cars deploy a rear wing while braking. Devices in line can aid in energy production and slowing the vehicle using drag.
The system’s aerodynamic configuration may also be used to manage airflow around other vehicle components. In certain implementations, airflow directed through or around the turbine assemblies could be used to shunt air toward selected areas of the vehicle, including areas surrounding the exhaust system of a hybrid vehicle. Such airflow management may provide additional cooling around exhaust components while integrating the turbine system into the vehicle’s broader aerodynamic design.
Key features and benefits include:
• Integrated air turbine system: Designed to operate alongside existing electric and hybrid vehicle charging and power systems.
• Magnetic electrical generation: Uses rotating impeller components and magnetic stators to convert turbine rotation into electrical output.
• Supplemental battery or capacitor charging: Provides a mechanism for directing generated electricity toward a vehicle’s battery or capacitor system.
• Under-load operation: Designed to provide supplemental charging capabilities while the vehicle is operating under load.
• Modular architecture: The use of multiple turbine assemblies allows the system configuration to be adapted to different vehicle designs.
• Active Aero: Turbine assemblies may also be incorporated into active aerodynamic configurations to manage airflow, create drag when desired, and potentially support vehicle-component cooling.
The name IMAGEN, derived from “impeller magnetic generator,” reflects the system’s primary operating concept: combining an air-driven impeller with magnetic electrical generation.
